Worton Kitchen Garden is a unique family owned and run regenerative farm, restaurant and event space; operating as a wedding venue tucked away on the edge of Oxford and the Cotswolds. A place where glasshouse glows at golden hour, guinea fowl wander freely, flowers tumble through borders, and every wedding meal begins its life in the soil just a few steps away. With exclusive use of the farm, a spectacular Glasshouse, enchanting orchard spaces, and a kitchen team renowned for their field-to-fork creativity, Worton Kitchen Garden offers a wedding experience that feels warm, soulful, and unmistakably English.
About Worton Kitchen Garden
Established in 2005 and continually evolving, the farm blends field crops, orchards, flower gardens, greenhouses, polytunnels, and small-scale animal husbandry into a characterful cottage-garden world. Guests are encouraged to wander freely through the gardens and glasshouses—an experience both immersive and magical in whatever season. The farm is home to pedigree piglets, runner ducks, a talking turkey, and free-roaming guinea fowl—adding a delightfully quirky charm to your wedding day.
At its heart sits the Glasshouse, looking out across the cut-flower garden. In spring, guests dine beside rare-breed tulips; in late summer, dahlias take centre stage. Throughout the farm, curated pockets of beauty—The Old Shop, the Library, orchard clearings, and leafy garden paths—offer enchanting backdrops for every part of your wedding day.
Alongside its charming setting, Worton Kitchen Garden offers a clear and supportive wedding structure: couples benefit from in‑house planning assistance and on‑the‑day coordination, a fully tailored catering offering crafted by the farm’s Head Chef, and flexible menu packages that adapt to seasonal produce and individual preferences. The team works closely with each couple to design a seamless, personalised celebration where the growing philosophy of the farm is reflected in both the experience and the food.
Ceremonies
Worton Kitchen Garden offers two intimate, picturesque ceremony locations, each accommodating up to 60 guests:
- The Glasshouse – A truly atmospheric, fully sheltered space surrounded by seasonal blooms, greenery, and soft natural light. Ideal not only for its beauty, but also as a reliable all‑weather option, ensuring ceremonies can go ahead seamlessly even in unpredictable UK weather.
- In Front of The Old Shop – Rustic, charming, and framed by gardens, this outdoor setting provides a relaxed, countryside atmosphere.
Although the venue is not licensed for legal ceremonies, symbolic or celebrant-led ceremonies are beautifully supported. The team provides full setup, planning assistance, music, and coordination, ensuring a seamless, heartfelt experience with the Glasshouse available as a built‑in wet‑weather contingency.
Receptions & Celebrations
Worton Kitchen Garden is designed for intimate, nature infused celebrations with a maximum capacity of 60 guests. Couples enjoy exclusive hire of the entire venue, including the Glasshouse, Old Shop, Library, orchard spaces, and garden “rooms” formed by hedges and flower borders.
Wedding Breakfast Options (all up to 60 guests):
- The Glasshouse – The heart of the venue, offering long rows of banqueting tables or eclectic mismatched layouts. A stunning, botanically rich backdrop.
- The Orchard – Dine beneath apple and pear trees for a quintessential English cottage-garden feast, often accompanied by the farm’s free-roaming guinea fowl.
- The Garden Path – A single dramatic long table under the Eucalyptus tree, offering a setting that feels like the South of France in the Cotswolds.
After-dinner celebrations take place in the Glasshouse or Orchard, where the team creates a laid-back, joy-filled party atmosphere with no curfew—perfect for dancing under the stars or late-night gathering around the Shepherd’s Hut.
For couples seeking additional all‑weather flexibility, there is also space on the grounds to install a marquee, often used as a dedicated dance floor or evening party space. This provides an excellent contingency option for UK weather while maintaining the venue’s relaxed, kitchen garden aesthetic.
Accommodation
There is no on-site accommodation, but the venue notes a wide array of nearby hotels, inns, and cottages, some within a 10-minute drive. Couples often choose to stay locally in the Cotswolds, where charming boutique stays and countryside retreats are abundant. Please enquire with the venue team for more details and booking assistance.
Catering
Food is the beating heart of Worton Kitchen Garden. The culinary team, led by Head Chef and Baker Simon, creates hyper-local, seasonal menus that celebrate what is freshly harvested, foraged, or produced on the farm itself. “Whatever is just picked, sun-ripened and grown by ourselves or foraged and hunted in the immediate vicinity will always have pride of place.”
Couples can expect beautifully crafted dishes tailored to their tastes, with thoughtful options for vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, and those with allergies. Catering styles range from traditional wedding banquets to relaxed feasting platters.
Worton Signatures:
- 30-hour Smoked Pedigree Saddleback Pig – Slow-smoked in full view of the Glasshouse; the hog can be ceremoniously paraded into the Glasshouse before serving. A guest favourite and a dramatic culinary moment.
- Wood-fired sourdough breads and cakes – All baked in-house using 100% organic flour.
- Botanical cocktails – Served during golden hour or around the Shepherd’s Hut.
Catering packages start at £80 per person with bespoke menu creation. Late-night food options—bacon baps, sourdough pizzas, or hog roast—keep your celebration fuelled!
Floristry is also available, using sustainably grown flowers from the farm, with packages ranging from simple table arrangements to full-service tablescaping floristry or even guided DIY workshops with the Head Gardener.
