Weddings here feel close to the land without becoming rustic for the sake of it: guests eat food grown nearby, gather among flowers, and move through garden paths, orchard spaces and the glowing Glasshouse. Weddings & settings

Ceremonies

Ceremonies at Worton Kitchen Garden are defined by intimacy and the garden itself. The venue is not licensed for legal ceremonies, so couples usually complete the formalities elsewhere and host a symbolic or celebrant-led ceremony on site. The team supports setup, music, planning assistance and on-the-day coordination, with the Glasshouse offering a built-in wet-weather option.

The Glasshouse

Fully sheltered and surrounded by seasonal planting, the Glasshouse is the most atmospheric ceremony setting. Natural light, greenery and views across the cut-flower garden make it practical as well as visually strong.

In Front of The Old Shop

A relaxed outdoor setting framed by the gardens, with a more rustic, open-air feel. It works well for couples who want the ceremony to feel closely tied to the farm’s character.

Both ceremony spaces accommodate up to 60 guests. The scale keeps the experience personal, with guests close to the couple and the garden forming part of the ceremony rather than sitting in the background.

Receptions

Receptions at Worton Kitchen Garden are designed for small, food-led celebrations that move through the garden rather than stay fixed in one room. With exclusive hire, couples have access to the Glasshouse, Old Shop, Library, orchard spaces and garden “rooms” shaped by hedges, borders and planting.

The Glasshouse is the heart of the venue, hosting wedding breakfasts for up to 60 guests. It can be arranged with long banqueting tables or a more informal mix of furniture, with the cut-flower garden visible around it.

For outdoor dining, the Orchard offers a softer English garden setting beneath apple and pear trees, while the Garden Path creates one long-table moment beneath the eucalyptus tree. These spaces suit weddings where the meal feels relaxed, seasonal and close to the landscape.

After dinner, celebrations continue in the Glasshouse, Orchard or around the Shepherd’s Hut. There is no curfew, and a marquee can be added on the grounds for extra all-weather flexibility or as a dedicated evening party space.

Staying on Site

Worton Kitchen Garden does not offer on-site accommodation. Its strength is as a day and evening venue, with couples and guests usually staying nearby in Oxford, the Cotswolds or the surrounding villages.

There are hotels, inns, cottages and countryside stays within easy reach, with some options around a 10-minute drive from the venue. This works well for couples who want the atmosphere of a private farm wedding while giving guests flexibility in where they stay.

The venue team can offer local recommendations and booking guidance where needed, helping couples keep guests close enough for smooth transport before and after the celebration.

Food & Atmosphere

Food is the centre of the Worton Kitchen Garden experience. Led by Head Chef and Baker Simon, the kitchen works around what is grown, harvested, foraged or produced nearby, giving wedding menus a direct connection to the farm.

The style is seasonal and generous, with options ranging from traditional wedding meals to more relaxed feasting platters. Menus can be adapted for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian and allergy-aware guests, and packages begin from £80 per person with bespoke menu creation.

Signature elements include 30-hour smoked pedigree Saddleback pig, wood-fired sourdough breads and cakes made in-house with organic flour, botanical cocktails, sourdough pizzas, hog roast and late-night food such as bacon baps. The smoked pig can even be cooked in view of the Glasshouse and brought in before serving.

Floristry can also be arranged using sustainably grown flowers from the farm, from simple table flowers to fuller tablescaping or guided DIY workshops with the Head Gardener.
