A Chic Summer Ceremony at a Puglian Masseria Where Time Slows Down
Photographed by Leo and Nick
There are venues that host weddings—and then there are places like Masseria San Giovanni, where everything seems to exhale. The kind of setting where the afternoon light falls soft and golden, and even the breeze feels intentional. “There’s something about Masseria San Giovanni that slows time,” say photographers Leo and Nick. “Maybe it’s the way the light hits the white stone… maybe it’s the calm, the kind of silence filled only by rustling olive trees and the quiet breath of sentiment.”
Set in the timeless landscape of Puglia, Masseria San Giovanni offers a kind of elegance that doesn’t try too hard. Paola and Samuel’s wedding day felt quietly luxurious—defined not by opulence, but by detail. The ceremony unfolded in front of a whitewashed chapel framed by sculptural floral arrangements in fresh whites and greens. Rows of ornate iron chairs formed an aisle that felt more like a gallery of intention than just a seating plan.
The couple kept things modern yet romantic. Paola’s minimalist gown—fitted at the waist, flowing in all the right places, with delicate straps and a soft bow detail—felt perfectly suited to the slow Italian sun. Samuel looked sharp in a classic black tux, while guests embraced the moment with silk dresses, open parasols, and sunglasses worthy of an editorial. From start to finish, everything felt beautifully unforced.
Leo and Nick captured it all in their signature pure-toned palette, letting the light and architecture do most of the storytelling. “The scenes unfolded in soft, balanced light,” they shared. “A breeze warm enough to hold your heart still for a second.” And it’s true—there’s a stillness in the imagery, a kind of composure that lingers even as you scroll.
Weddings like this don’t scream for attention. They whisper. They inspire. And in this quiet corner of Puglia, with a yellow vintage Fiat tucked beneath olive branches and vows exchanged beneath a southern Italian sky, the day felt less like a performance and more like coming home.
