A Cinematic Wedding Weekend at a Mountaintop Château in Quebec

Photographed by Koko King

There are weddings that unfold like stories — and then there are weddings that feel like entire epics. Rebecca and Andrew hosted theirs at Château Ste. Agnès, perched high above the Quebec countryside, where their celebration played out in thoughtfully composed scenes. Each chapter was crafted with the kind of intention that lingers: a welcome BBQ filled with regional flavours, a deeply symbolic black-tie ceremony, and a moody after-party that veered into disco territory. “It felt like a living poem,” recalls photographer Koko King, “elegant yet elemental.”

Their ceremony was less of a performance and more of a shared ritual. Rebecca and Andrew exchanged vows over an “oathing stone” — an ancient Celtic tradition that added weight and legacy to their promises. Rebecca wore a sculptural gown by Ines di Santo, architectural yet fluid, while Andrew’s dark green tuxedo — tailored and slightly Bond-esque — brought its own quiet drama. There was no need to over-style what was already emotionally rich.

The design of the day moved with the guests, not against them. A candlelit dinner took place inside the château’s warm-toned reception space, where florals were kept minimal and the focus stayed on texture: etched glassware, delicate linens, and softly glowing tapers. “Everything was tied together with emotional flow,” Koko shares. “Nothing felt random or forced.”

As professionals in the wine world, the couple infused their weekend with nods to terroir and storytelling. Each table was named after a different grape variety or wine region, with menus printed in French and English. Even the late-night party — equal parts underground lounge and ‘70s glam — spoke to the couple’s layered sense of romance.

This wasn’t a wedding built around trends or viral moments. It was something slower, more considered. A weekend designed with soul, depth, and a dash of drama — the kind that stays with you long after the final glass of champagne.
