A Lively Garden Celebration at Laguna Gloria in Austin
Photographed by Robyn Dawn Photos
The story of Jenna and Hunter began in the most unexpected way—over a shared parking spot at work. “On Jenna’s first day of her first job in advertising, she got an email telling her she had been assigned to share a two-car parking spot with someone named Hunter Stephan,” recalls photographer Robyn Dawn. Jenna had imagined “a 40-something married guy with kids since that’s who she mainly pictured in the workforce, but Janet in HR had other plans.” Instead, a chance meeting with Hunter turned into daily walk-and-talks to their cars. “He eventually asked if they could hang out outside of the office parking garage… to which she said no. So he backed off,” shares Robyn. That didn’t last long—one late-night text shifted everything, leading to their first date and the beginning of a lasting connection.
When Hunter proposed years later, it was in Verona, Italy, just before Christmas. “Even though this seems like a proposal-perfect circumstance that Jenna should have been very suspicious of… she wasn’t,” Robyn explains. Hunter found a quiet spot along the Adige River with a view of Ponte Pietra. “He got down on one knee and popped the question. She (of course!) said yes and immediately heard clapping from above,” Robyn recalls. “They looked up to see Blake (Jenna’s cousin) taking pictures next to an old Italian man clapping and yelling, ‘Amore! Amore!’” It was a moment that set the tone for the celebration to come.
Their wedding at Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas captured that same sense of spontaneity and joy. Beneath a floral arch overflowing with roses in every shade of pink and coral, Jenna and Hunter exchanged vows as rain softly fell. “Umbrellas went up, but it only added to the magic,” says Robyn. The historic venue and lush gardens provided a backdrop that felt both timeless and alive with energy.
The design leaned into citrus tones, making the celebration as vibrant as the couple themselves. From the bride’s bouquet accented with kumquats to a fountain filled with floating oranges, lemons, and roses, the details felt fresh and playful. Even the cake carried the same spirit—simple, white, and adorned with bold flowers that tied everything together.
Dinner was shared under glowing string lights, where long banquet tables encouraged togetherness. For couples searching for a destination that balances history and nature, Laguna Gloria offers one of Austin’s most inspiring backdrops. And for those dreaming of something further afield, exploring other wedding venues across Texas reveals endless possibilities for celebrations that feel just as alive.
