A Tuscan Affair with Wisteria, Fireworks & Florentine Views
Photographed by Domrose Photography
Some weddings don’t need grand statements—they speak in moments, in details, in light. This celebration at Villa Medicea di Lilliano, just outside Florence, was one of them.
The villa’s old stone walls and symmetrical gardens created a quiet sense of order as the couple walked arm in arm through the courtyard. No fanfare. Just a soft spring light and wisteria in bloom.
The bride wore a strapless ivory gown with a clean silhouette and a sharp front slit—a dress that moved with her rather than against her. She carried a loose bouquet in neutral tones: ranunculus, sweet peas, snapdragons, and what looked like a few stems freshly cut from a garden rather than arranged. It was delicate but not precious.
Guests gathered on the upper terrace, where rows of chairs faced a view of Florence and the hills beyond. The ceremony was framed by low, sculptural floral arrangements in white and blush, designed to complement rather than compete with the view. From there, dinner was served along a gravel path on a single, uninterrupted table—white linens, candles, and minimal greenery strung between overhead lights.
Later, the sky turned from gold to blue to black, and fireworks lit up the night. It was a striking contrast to the restraint of the earlier moments—a final, unfiltered exhale at the end of a thoughtfully composed day.
This wedding didn’t try to perform. It didn’t need to. Every choice was considered but never forced. A reminder that elegance isn’t always about excess—it’s about knowing what to leave out.
