A Tuscan Garden Wedding with Espresso Martinis and Gelato After Dark

Jean and Ben, a couple from Australia, hosted their destination wedding at Villa Olimpia in the hills of Tuscany. With just 16 guests in attendance, the day was designed to feel relaxed, intimate, and entirely personal.
The ceremony took place in the villa’s garden, where wooden chairs were arranged beneath the trees. White flowers framed the space, creating a minimalist but intentional setting for the couple’s vows. “The intimate setup allowed everyone to feel deeply connected to the moment,” said photographer Sophie Häusler, who captured the day.
Jean wore an off-the-shoulder satin gown with a long train and a row of buttons down the back. Ben opted for a classic black tux with a bow tie. After the ceremony, guests tossed white confetti as the couple made their exit down a petal-strewn aisle—one of the most joyful moments of the day.
Dinner was held in the villa’s courtyard, with a single long table set under string lights. The tablescape was simple but elevated, with white linen, gold flatware, and low arrangements of cream-toned flowers. A small string ensemble played as guests took their seats.
Instead of a cake, Jean and Ben poured an Espresso Martini tower as their evening centrepiece—a playful and polished alternative that suited the tone of the day. Later in the evening, guests were treated to a vintage gelato cart, styled with candles and florals for a late-night dessert moment that felt relaxed but still thought-through.
