An Intimate Tuesday Wedding Beneath the Linden Trees of Monte Pacis
Photographed by Jurgita Lukos
There’s something quietly magical about a weekday wedding. For Erika and Are, Tuesday offered exactly what they needed: freedom. No timelines to chase, no expectations to meet—just a gathering of their favourite people under the tree-lined paths of Monte Pacis, a former monastery turned serene Lithuanian venue. This was a celebration about presence and connection, not performance.
Erika, a self-described perfectionist with a deeply romantic soul, had one clear vision: to capture not only beauty, but feeling. “The bouquet, the decor, the mood, the love, and the closeness,” the photographer, Jurgita Lukos, recalled. Her words say it all. The ceremony took place in a peaceful linden alleyway, with soft summer light filtering through the canopy above. Officiated by Priest Saulius Juozaitis of Kaunas Evangelical Lutheran Church, it was as thoughtful and grounded as the couple themselves.
The design, by florist and stylist Roberta Drasute, mirrored the bride’s poetic sensibility: a loose, organic palette of peach, blush, and soft wildflower tones that spilled over vases and urns with gentle abandon. Even the dinner—set along one long table beneath twinkling café lights—felt like an extension of the couple’s warmth. Guests gathered for a slow, elegant tasting menu, surrounded by florals that looked like they had grown up from the table itself.
Theirs is a love story is full of sincerity: Are fell for Erika the moment he saw her—struck by “lightning and thunder,” in his own words. What followed was a quiet, steady unfolding: conversations, moments, shared time, and eventually a proposal that came not with fanfare, but with a long, earnest look and a simple question. She took a month to answer. Eight years later, they were ready to say yes for good.
Photographer Jurgita Lukos, who captured the day, reflected on what made this wedding so special: “I once again realised why I like wedding photography so much. And how Norwegians love speeches,” she laughed. “It’s a pity I don’t understand Norwegian.” And yet, what was expressed through glances, gestures, and quiet joy needed no translation.
