A Contemporary Greenhouse Wedding at Comman Goods in Southern California

Photographed by Blake Clover

Set beneath tall palms and clear Southern California skies, Zaineb and Zlatan’s wedding at Comman Goods in Carlsbad unfolded in a space that felt relaxed, contemporary, and full of character. Guests arrived to rows of wooden ceremony chairs arranged on gravel in the courtyard, framed by the venue’s greenhouse structure and industrial metal buildings softened with burgundy drapery. The setting immediately established the tone for the day—modern, textural, and quietly striking. It’s the kind of venue that captures the creative spirit of weddings across California, making it a compelling addition to the growing collection of spaces couples are discovering throughout the state.

Photographer Blake Clover remembers the day as joyful from start to finish. “A beautiful day in Southern California with Zaineb and Zlatan at Comman Goods, hosting their first wedding,” he shared. As guests gathered before the ceremony, the atmosphere felt natural and unhurried. Friends greeted one another among the rows of chairs while the greenhouse and courtyard buzzed with anticipation.

Zaineb’s bridal look brought a fashion-forward presence to the day. Her off-the-shoulder gown featured soft layers of tulle and delicate embroidery, balanced by voluminous sleeves that moved effortlessly with every step. Zlatan complemented the look in a deep green suit, a subtle but confident choice against the rich burgundy backdrop used for portraits and ceremony details. Together, they created a striking visual contrast—soft ivory textures paired with darker tones that echoed throughout the florals and décor.

Florals played a key role in shaping the atmosphere. Orchids, tulips, and deep burgundy hydrangeas appeared in sculptural arrangements and the bride’s bouquet, blending soft whites with moody reds and chocolate tones. The palette continued across the tables with burgundy linens, gold flatware, and layered place settings that brought warmth to the industrial interior. The reception space itself felt expansive yet welcoming, with draped fabric softening the ceiling and long wooden tables arranged beneath strands of light.

Food and styling moments added further character to the celebration. Cocktail displays featured seasonal vegetables, dips, and small pastries arranged across flowing white linens, while mirrored trays of desserts reflected candlelight throughout the room. Even the wedding cake followed the same modern approach—a minimal white design topped with a dramatic line of blackberries, placed on a satin-draped table alongside vintage silver serving pieces.

Looking back on the day, Blake Clover remembers most the couple’s warmth toward everyone around them. “It was evident how much this couple loved each other and their friends and family there,” he said. “They have the sweetest hearts and are so caring—they made sure myself and their guests had a great time.” Their celebration also marked a milestone for the venue itself, becoming the first wedding held at Comman Goods. As more couples begin exploring distinctive venues across the United States, spaces like this one are shaping a new wave of wedding design—creative, expressive, and connected to place.
