A Warm-Toned Garden Wedding at Finca Morneta in Mallorca
Finca Morneta set the tone from the very first frame — honeyed stone walls, dark wooden doors and green shutters catching the late afternoon light. The setting felt expansive yet calm, with olive trees framing the courtyard and open land stretching beyond. It was a celebration kept intentionally small, centred on closeness and time shared in one place rather than a packed schedule.
“The historic finca provided the perfect setting for a wedding that was intentionally small and focused on what truly matters: closeness, connection and time spent together,” photographer Katharina Ultsch explains. That focus is evident in the way the day unfolds visually — understated exchanges, and portraits stripped back to essentials. The bride’s off-the-shoulder gown moved softly in the breeze, while the groom’s deep brown suit created a rich contrast against the pale stone backdrop.
The ceremony unfolded without excess. “The ceremony was defined by genuine moments and a relaxed atmosphere, filled with warmth and emotional presence,” Katharina shares. Visually, it reads clean and immediate — no elaborate installations, no heavy styling. Just the couple framed by stone, guests seated close, reactions caught as they happened. The focus stays tight, allowing the architecture and open landscape to act as a quiet backdrop rather than a distraction.
As the day transitioned into evening, the courtyard transformed into a long-table dinner scene beneath the olive trees. Crisp white linen, wooden bistro chairs and layered centrepieces set the mood. Deep burgundy and rust-toned florals intertwined with grapes, artichokes and seasonal produce, echoing the Mediterranean setting. The mauve-toned cake — sculptural, fruit-adorned and almost painterly — stood in the garden as both dessert and design statement. For couples planning a wedding in Mallorca, this approach shows how colour and texture can reflect the island’s warmth without overwhelming the architecture.
“A small group of guests accompanied the couple as their closest people, making the day personal and intimate,” Katharina notes. That intimacy shaped the dinner — shared meals, raised glasses and conversation stretching across the table.
Later, the couple moved into the open fields surrounding the finca for a final set of portraits. Shot against the wide Mallorcan landscape, the frames feel expansive and pared back, with the natural light doing all the work. The images move between tight, emotive close-ups and expansive landscapes, capturing both closeness and scale.
