Set within lush natural parkland just outside Marbella, Finca La Concepción is an expansive Andalusian estate and destination wedding venue where industrial heritage meets subtropical Spanish beauty. With atmospheric ruins, century-old trees, and acres of landscaped gardens, it offers couples a fairytale canvas for mid to large-scale celebrations in the heart of southern Spain.
About Finca La Concepción
Originally founded as Spain’s first iron foundry in 1837, Finca La Concepción is a rare fusion of industrial history and Mediterranean charm. The estate has undergone a sensitive transformation, preserving the dramatic stone ruins and original architectural features, while layering in tropical gardens, fountains, and expansive lawns. Today, the property spans into multiple event zones, each with its own visual identity, from wrought iron pergolas to the tranquil poolsides and romantic ruins.
This venue is particularly suited to high-capacity events and offers a truly blank canvas, ideal for couples with a creative vision. The venue operates on an exclusive-use basis and can host up to 500 guests.
Weddings
Ceremonies
Finca La Concepción is licensed to host civil ceremonies on-site. While the venue does not provide in-house planning services, it works closely with a curated list of experienced local planners and suppliers who are familiar with the property and can assist with full coordination. Couples are also welcome to bring their own team.
Couples can choose from a variety of ceremony settings across the estate, each offering its own distinctive atmosphere and visual character. These include:
- The Walnut Tree: A peaceful, shaded spot beneath a one-hundred-year-old walnut tree in the centre of the gardens, ideal for a natural and intimate outdoor ceremony.
- El Pórtico de la Capilla: Situated before the main house, this former church entrance lends gravitas and a sense of heritage to your vows.
- The Foundry Ruins: A dramatic setting framed by the remnants of Spain’s first ironworks, offering historical texture and striking backdrops for ceremonies and photographs.
- El Cenador: A charming garden pavilion that suits smaller, romantic gatherings.
- The Gardens: Expansive and flexible, the landscaped gardens offer multiple configurations, adaptable to the season and guest flow.
The venue does not have dedicated indoor ceremony spaces as standard; however, covered areas and tented solutions can be arranged through planners and suppliers in case of inclement weather.
While the estate can host up to 500 guests, individual capacities for each event area may vary depending on layout and styling. Couples are encouraged to discuss specific configurations with their planner or venue contact.
Receptions & Celebrations
The estate’s six event areas are designed to accommodate everything from refined dinners to grand late-night parties. The main gardens feature a spectacular central fountain and manicured lawns ideal for dining beneath the stars. The Ruins add atmosphere and visual intrigue, perfect for memorable evening moments or photo backdrops. The poolside zone is perfect for cocktails or relaxed mingling. Each area can be styled and lit to suit the season, event scale, and personal aesthetic.
As a dry hire venue, Finca La Concepción invites couples to bring in their own suppliers. The venue also maintains a list of trusted partners, and bar providers must be licensed. Onsite infrastructure includes power, prep space for caterers, and guest toilets. Music and celebrations may continue late into the evening, making it especially appealing for weekend weddings.

Catering at Finca La Concepción is entirely bespoke, with no set formula, just the freedom to create something that reflects your taste, pace, and setting. The estate partners with some of the region’s top caterers, known for their creative menus and use of seasonal Andalusian ingredients, from local seafood to sun-ripened citrus.
There’s no shortage of scenic spots to stage each dining moment. Start with cocktails by the pool, where the breeze and palm fronds set a relaxed and elegant tone. For dinner, the main gardens invite long tables under the stars beside a sculptural fountain and sweeping lawns. The Foundry Ruins can be transformed into a candlelit banquet with dramatic flair, while El Cenador suits more intimate, slow-paced affairs. Even the area beneath the walnut tree, usually reserved for ceremonies, can be flipped into a characterful dining scene as day turns to dusk.
As a dry hire venue, all food and beverage suppliers must be arranged independently. The estate provides essential facilities including a prep kitchen, and there is no corkage fee.
