Sitting quietly in the lush hills of western Cyprus, Vasilias Nikoklis Inn is a private countryside retreat offering exclusivity, intimacy, and a special, calm place to savour the magic of a destination wedding with the ones you love the most. This is a venue where Cypriot character meets thoughtful and experienced hosting, and it’s ideal for couples seeking a relaxed, personal wedding experience framed by nature and authentic Cypriot hospitality.

Located in the Diarizos Valley near Paphos, Vasilias Nikoklis Inn is a restored 19th-century inn that blends authentic rural character with modern comforts. Originally a family home and now a boutique event venue, it retains a quiet, lived-in charm; vine-covered terraces, old stone walls, and handcrafted details tell the story of the generations who’ve cared for the Inn. Owned and run by the Konstantinou family, who have lovingly preserved its original features while tailoring the layout and functionality of the property for intimate weddings and retreats.

The venue is offered on an exclusive-use basis and specialises in intimate to medium-sized weddings. It can accommodate up to 120 guests for ceremonies and receptions, with overnight capacity for 16 guests across eight en-suite rooms. Most wedding bookings include the eight-room package as standard, allowing couples and key guests to stay onsite for the full celebration. The atmosphere is informal but curated, with a strong emphasis on hospitality and authenticity that the region is famous for.

Ceremonies

Vasilias offers two outdoor ceremony locations, each with its own distinct character but unified by a natural atmosphere that reflects the rural charm of the venue itself:

  • Vine-Covered Courtyard: Enclosed and private, this setting is shaded by climbing greenery and ideal for smaller, intimate ceremonies. It offers a sense of seclusion and warmth; a peaceful, personal space to exchange vows.
  • Eucalyptus Garden: Set slightly apart from the main building, this grove is surrounded by mature trees and open sky. It’s particularly suited to ceremonies with a slightly larger guest list, offering space without compromising on ambience.

Both locations come pre-styled with thoughtful touches: handcrafted wooden benches, traditional village chairs, a rustic stone arch draped in soft fabric, and an understated floral palette that complements rather than competes with the natural landscape. Civil and symbolic ceremonies can be held on site, and a dedicated bridal changing room is available to ensure a relaxed, unrushed lead-up to the ceremony.

The venue’s in-house coordinator manages the flow of the day and can help organise everything from décor and floral arrangements to entertainment and photography. Vasilias also welcomes external planners and offers access to its own wedding planning portal for styling and supplier coordination. Services like hair and makeup, live music, and cake design are handled through a trusted network.

Receptions & Celebrations

Celebrations at Vasilias typically unfold in a relaxed, open-air rhythm.

Post-ceremony, guests are welcomed with drinks under the shade of the terrace or courtyard. Local lemonade, buckets of ice-cold beers, and signature cocktail jars set the tone for an informal, joyful gathering.

Dinner is served alfresco beneath strings of fairy lights, either in the courtyard or along the vine-draped terrace. Traditional Cypriot and Mediterranean dishes are shared family-style, paired with award-winning local wines and attentive, unobtrusive service.

As the evening deepens, sparklers light the dance floor and music takes over – whether it’s a live band, a DJ, or simply a curated playlist. The atmosphere is celebratory but never overproduced; couples often end the night chatting with guests under the stars or slipping into the pool for a quiet moment away.

The following day, the mood shifts gently into recovery and reconnection. Guests gather for breakfast — homemade pastries, garden fruit, local cheese and eggs – served on the terrace with views over the Diarizos Valley. Some choose to explore nearby villages or the coast; others lounge by the pool, book in hand.

The venue’s multi-day format allows space for the celebration to breathe, letting each moment unfold at its own pace and giving couples and their guests the rare luxury of not having to rush.

The inn offers eight rustic en-suite bedrooms, each with traditional furnishings and modern amenities including air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and hairdryers. Rooms can be arranged to suit couples, families, or small groups, with baby cots and z-beds available on request.

Accommodation is simple but charming — ideal for couples seeking comfort without excess. The layout supports wedding groups well, allowing the couple and their guests to stay together in privacy, just steps from the event spaces. Breakfast is served daily, often on the terrace, and includes home-baked pastries, eggs, fruit from the garden, and Cyprus coffee.

Food and drink are central to the experience at Vasilias, with everything prepared in-house using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and time-honoured Cypriot recipes. Whether you’re planning a relaxed feast or a more formal affair, the culinary offering is designed to feel generous, unfussy, and full of flavour.

Couples can choose from a well-rounded selection of menus:

  • Village BBQ: A sociable, open-fire spread with grilled meats, halloumi, salads, and fresh breads – ideal for al fresco dinners that stretch into the evening.
  • Mediterranean Flavours: A more curated selection of regional dishes, focusing on vibrant produce, seafood, and slow-cooked local favourites.
  • Canapés & Buffets: Light bites and grazing options for receptions, drinks hours, or late-night top-ups – think mini souvlaki, dips, cheeses, and fruit platters.

Dietary requirements are easily accommodated, with tailored menus available for vegetarian, vegan, and child-friendly needs.

The bar is fully licensed and feels like part of the party rather than a side note. Guests can toast with ice-cold Cypriot beer, local award-winning wine, or signature cocktail jars like Mojitos, Brandy Sours, or a jug of sangria shared between friends.
