A Colour-Infused Celebration at La Farinera de Sant Lluís
Photographed by Lucky Elevens
Emma and Marc’s wedding at La Farinera de Sant Lluís brought a vivid mix of cultures and traditions to the Costa Brava. The couple chose the restored flour mill for its unique setting, where historic architecture meets open landscapes, creating the perfect stage for their destination celebration.
Photographer Sandra Orrego of Lucky Elevens described the day as one that “blended Mediterranean warmth with international traditions,” noting how every moment was filled with energy. The floral design set the tone—bold, playful, and colourful—reflecting a spirit of joy that carried through the ceremony and beyond.
One of the most striking aspects of the celebration was the weaving together of heritage. “Emma and Marc brought together three cultures for their wedding in Catalonia—British with Chinese heritage, Catalan, and even a Scottish branch that made its way into the celebration,” Sandra shared. From traditional attire to a lively reel on the dance floor, the wedding became a tapestry of the couple’s roots and global connections.
The grounds of La Farinera offered an idyllic backdrop for the open-air dinner, where long banquet tables were styled with candlelight and vibrant flowers. As night fell, string lights illuminated the lawns, casting a golden glow over the celebration. It’s the kind of Mediterranean atmosphere that makes Catalonia wedding venues so sought-after for couples dreaming of a celebration abroad.
The evening came to a close in true Scottish fashion, with guests joining in for reels that carried everyone late into the night. “It was a joyful nod to Emma’s roots,” Sandra recalls, a moment that captured the essence of the day—international, festive, and full of connection.
