If Mr. Darcy Married Lizzie Today: A Modern Pride & Prejudice Wedding at Stone Haven

Photographed by Brooke Stone

Stone Haven became the backdrop for a styled shoot that reimagined one of literature’s most beloved romances. Shot by Brooke Stone, the concept was drawn directly from Pride & Prejudice. “I wanted a shoot that was what it would have looked like had Mr. Darcy and Lizzie got married in today’s time,” Brooke explains. The result is a visual story that layers period-inspired romance with a modern edge.

The bride’s look balanced restraint and drama—an off-the-shoulder gown with structured lines softened by a flowing embroidered veil. Paired with sculptural heels and minimal jewelry, the styling felt timeless yet forward-looking. The groom’s classic black suit completed the narrative, grounding the aesthetic in contemporary wedding style while nodding to Regency influence.

The details were equally intentional. Rings reflected on vintage mirrors, shoes displayed against painted backdrops, and interiors styled with ornate frames brought depth to the visual narrative. Each still felt like a page from a modern-day Austen adaptation, reminding couples that meaningful design lies in both the grand setting and the subtle moments.
