Weddings & settings

Ceremonies

Ceremonies at Herdade do Perú are symbolic or humanist rather than legally binding, as the estate is not licensed for civil ceremonies. The strength of the ceremony experience lies in the variety of outdoor settings, from open gardens to courtyards and terraces framed by the Arrábida landscape.

The estate team supports layout, décor, supplier coordination, and logistics, working with celebrants, florists, and stylists while allowing couples to bring their own creative direction.

Courtyards

A more enclosed option, shaped by shaded corners, stone archways of Casa Grande, and a classic Mediterranean atmosphere.

Panoramic Terraces

A wide, open-air setting for ceremonies with a stronger connection to the Arrábida Mountains and the surrounding countryside.

Garden Lawns

Flexible outdoor spaces that can be adapted for smaller ceremonies or larger symbolic celebrations beneath the open sky.

The venue’s appeal is the freedom to shape the ceremony around the estate’s landscape, rather than working within a single fixed ceremony location.

Receptions

Receptions at Herdade do Perú are defined by freedom and scale. This is not a venue with one prescribed format; it is an estate where couples can build the celebration around gardens, courtyards, open lawns, and covered structures, with enough infrastructure to support both intimate and very large events.

Casa Grande and its surrounding gardens create a natural setting for outdoor dining and evening gatherings, while Avenida da Cortiça and Jardim das Quatro Estações offer alternative open-air spaces with their own atmosphere. For larger celebrations or weather protection, the Safari Tent Pavilion accommodates up to 350 seated guests and includes lighting, flooring, and full event amenities.

The estate’s event package includes exclusive hire, 10 hours of event time, accommodation for 54 guests, and on-site support from attendants, security, and maintenance teams. Professional lighting, power, and a noise licence allow the celebration to continue late into the night.

Couples can bring their own caterers, musicians, and décor specialists, supported by the estate’s experienced events team and local supplier network.

Staying on Site

Herdade do Perú accommodates up to 54 guests across separate estate properties, giving close family and friends the option to stay within the private grounds. The accommodation is spread across suites and residences, which works well for multi-day weddings where guests arrive in smaller groups but gather together for the main celebration.

Páteo Suites

Seven spacious 72 sqm suites, each with a private bathroom and access to an outdoor garden with a small pool. These are included in the wedding package.

Casa dos Netos

A 320 sqm family-style house with two suites and four bedrooms, plus a private lawn, pool, and pergola. This house is also included in the wedding package.

Casa de Sant’Anna and Casa dos Bons Ares

Additional estate properties offering space for a further 28 guests to stay close to the celebration.

Guests can wake to views of the gardens and countryside, with continental breakfast prepared using local ingredients. For larger wedding parties, the estate team can help arrange nearby accommodation through trusted partners in Azeitão and Setúbal.

Food & Atmosphere

Food at Herdade do Perú is supplier-led, giving couples full freedom to choose the caterer and dining style that best fits their celebration. The estate provides a fully equipped kitchen tent and cocktail support tent, allowing external teams to work to a professional standard on site.

This flexibility is one of the venue’s strongest advantages. Couples can create anything from a formal plated dinner to a relaxed Mediterranean feast, a garden reception, or a large-scale banquet within the Safari Tent Pavilion.

The estate’s trusted suppliers often work with Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, while the surrounding Setúbal and Azeitão regions bring strong local wine possibilities into the experience. Regional wines, outdoor dining, and the estate’s mountain views help root the food experience in place without requiring a fixed in-house format.

Bar and drinks service can be shaped through the chosen caterer or specialist suppliers, giving couples control over the tone and pace of the evening.
