Ceremonies
Ceremonies at This Must Be The Place are defined by openness: valley views, terraces, wild edges and the feeling of being slightly removed from the world. The venue is not licensed for legal marriages, so couples usually complete the paperwork elsewhere and host a symbolic or humanist ceremony on site. Jo and Duncan are hands-on hosts rather than formal wedding planners, offering practical guidance, supplier knowledge and creative input while couples shape the day with their own team.
L’Era
The farm’s former grain-threshing floor, reached by steps from Els Graners. Surrounded by plants, flowers and stone walls, it has a warm, enclosed feeling for ceremonies, aperitivos or open-air dinners.
La Feixa
A garden terrace with panoramic views across the Catalan hills and towards the Pyrenees. Its movable structures and Balinese parasols give it a relaxed, design-led quality.
El Mirador
An elevated grassy viewpoint with wide, uninterrupted views. It brings a more expansive feeling to larger outdoor ceremonies.
El Paddock
The highest point on the estate, partly wild and framed by an antique iron gate, with 360-degree views that feel especially strong at sunset.

Receptions
Receptions at This Must Be The Place are shaped by movement between outdoor terraces and the barns. The estate works best when the celebration follows the land: drinks in the courtyard, dinner outside while the light changes, then a late-night party inside Els Graners.
Els Graners is the venue’s central event space: two interconnected double-height barns arranged around the courtyard of El Barri. Glass bi-fold doors open the barns into the courtyard, creating an easy flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The barns seat around 100–120 guests for dinner and can host up to 180 for cocktails and dancing.
Outdoor dinners can take place in L’Era, La Feixa or other terraces, depending on guest numbers and the shape of the event. As the evening shifts indoors, Els Graners brings the venue’s more playful side into focus, with stone arches, chandeliers, professional sound, dynamic lighting and a mirrorball.
The venue has a 3am curfew, giving the party time to build without running all night. Couples also have access to Jo and Duncan’s trusted local supplier network for floristry, music, production and styling.
Staying on Site
The main farmhouse at This Must Be The Place has four ensuite bedrooms, sleeping up to 12 guests. Accommodation is limited, so it is best suited to the couple, close friends or immediate family staying at the centre of the wedding.
Each bedroom is named after a jazz figure — Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington and Nina Simone — reflecting the venue’s music-led character. The rooms combine original stonework, exposed beams and handcrafted furnishings with a warm, contemporary feel.
Guests staying on site share a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and terraces overlooking the valley. Optional breakfast hampers from the nearby farm shop, Magadins Vell, can be arranged for slow mornings before or after the wedding.
For the wider guest list, Jo and Duncan provide recommendations for nearby boutique hotels, rural B&Bs, traditional masias and other local stays, with guidance on transport and logistics.

Food & Atmosphere
Food at This Must Be The Place is led by Caravan Made, the venue’s exclusive catering partner. The style is modern Catalan, sociable and relaxed, designed around generous formats that suit the estate’s outdoor spaces and music-led energy.
Couples can choose between three main dining formats: a sit-down dinner, a family-style dinner or a food market wedding with tasting stations and chef-led counters. Each format can take place outside in L’Era under the open sky or inside Els Graners, where the stone, candlelight and chandeliers create a warmer evening atmosphere.
The food often leans into aperitivo-style moments, roaming canapés, grazing tables, food stations and seasonal produce, encouraging guests to move, talk and eat without the feeling of a rigid banquet.
The venue also has a licensed bar, with wines from the nearby Penedès region, cava, craft beers and bespoke cocktails. Bar options include open bar service, pre-paid packages or pay-per-drink setups.
