Ceremonies

Ceremonies at Fraser River Lodge are defined by the scale of the landscape. The river, Mount Cheam and the Cascade Mountains create a natural frame, giving vows a sense of openness without needing heavy styling.

The lodge is licensed for civil ceremonies and welcomes same-sex weddings. There are no religious facilities on site, but couples may include cultural, spiritual or symbolic elements with their chosen celebrant. A bridal changing room is available, and a day-of coordinator is included in wedding packages to support timing, vendor management and the flow of the day.

Outdoor Ceremony Lawn

Positioned to make the most of the river and mountain views, the lawn offers an open-air setting with enough space for larger guest counts while still feeling connected to the landscape.

Marquee Tent

For changing weather, the Marquee Tent provides a sheltered ceremony option without losing the surrounding views. It keeps the atmosphere close to the outdoors while offering greater comfort and cover.

The overall ceremony experience is simple and scenic: wide views, clean air and a setting that allows the landscape to carry much of the atmosphere.

Receptions

Receptions at Fraser River Lodge are shaped by the movement between riverfront grounds, terraces and sheltered dining spaces. The venue’s strength lies in its ease: guests can move from ceremony to drinks, dinner and dancing without leaving the property, while the scenery continues to shift throughout the day.

Drinks may take place on the terrace or across the grounds, with room for lawn games, relaxed conversation and portraits along the riverfront. Dinner is typically hosted in the marquee or main reception space, where long tables and broad views keep the celebration connected to the valley outside.

As evening develops, speeches move into dancing, supported by the venue’s sound system. A curfew applies, so the reception is paced with a clear evening structure rather than an open-ended party.

Fraser River Lodge hosts weddings of up to 200 guests and is offered on an exclusive-use basis, with a minimum one-night stay. For couples planning a fuller weekend, the format can extend naturally into welcome drinks, outdoor activities, a next-day brunch or a slower riverside gathering before guests leave.

Staying on Site

Fraser River Lodge offers on-site accommodation for up to 47 guests across 20 bedrooms, allowing close family and friends to stay within the wedding setting. The rooms follow a warm lodge style, with comfortable interiors and a direct connection to the surrounding landscape.

The accommodation works best as part of a full weekend experience. Guests wake close to the river, gather in shared lounges and outdoor spaces, and stay immersed in the property rather than travelling back and forth between separate hotels.

The lodge is dog-friendly, allowing couples to include pets in the celebration. For additional guests, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs offer nearby accommodation options, with the venue team able to advise on local recommendations.

Food & Atmosphere

Food at Fraser River Lodge is place-led, with in-house catering built around locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients. The team supports regional farmers and local businesses, with seafood sourced locally where possible, giving the dining experience a clear connection to British Columbia and the Fraser Valley.

Menus can be shaped around the format of the celebration, from plated dinners to buffet-style service or a more relaxed brunch the following day. Dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

The lodge also operates a licensed bar, with drinks service woven through the event from welcome cocktails to evening toasts. Paired with river views, mountain light and the quiet scale of the grounds, the food and bar offering supports the venue’s overall feeling: relaxed, generous and closely tied to its setting.
