Rubén Larruy creates wedding imagery that is cinematic, timeless, and deeply personal. Based in Barcelona and traveling globally, Rubén approaches each celebration with quiet sensitivity and a deep curiosity about the couples he photographs.

Rubén says his photography speaks of unique stories through his “sensitivity and perception of love.” His inspiration, he shares, “comes from cinema, Barcelona, Paris, fashion, Italy, visual arts, movement and music.”

With a love for black and white, and an eye for contrast, his imagery often feels pulled from the frames of an art film; elegant, emotional, and atmospheric. He focuses on understanding each couple and how they connect, resulting in photography that is not only beautiful but meaningful.

He works intuitively, often disappearing into the background to document the day as it naturally unfolds. Editorial yet unobtrusive, elegant yet sincere – Rubén’s work captures more than just weddings; it captures stories.

His mission, as he puts it, is “to create unique images that reflect the essence of subjects.” To maintain the quality of his work and fully enjoy each story, Rubén only takes on a limited number of weddings each year. “With the passage of time I have been discovering the importance of photography to preserve moments that pass quickly and that will surely fade from our memories,” he reflects.

Outside of photography, Rubén describes himself as “sensitive, somewhat reserved,” someone who loves “little moments.” He shares his life with “the most human person I know and our little dog, Maya,” who remind him daily “what love is and how important it is in this world.”
