A Red Tea Ceremony to Remember
Photographed by Ana Marina Sanz
Set amidst the tranquil landscapes of Ibiza, this wedding at Ca Na Xica is a striking blend of tradition, elegance, and contemporary styling. Thoughtfully honouring Chinese heritage while embracing the laid-back luxury of a Mediterranean island, every detail of the day was curated to celebrate culture, love, and connection.
The bride and groom changed into traditional Chinese wedding attire for their tea ceremony—a vibrant red qipao and intricately embroidered changshan—set against a floral altar draped in crimson roses and red lanterns. Rich with symbolism and warmth, the ceremony space felt both intimate and opulent, nestled beneath pine trees and golden light.
Dinner followed under the open sky, where guests gathered around candlelit tables dressed in minimalist white, offset by sculptural arrangements of red, black, and blush blooms. Touches of lacquered black, gold detailing, and modern glassware brought a refined yet playful mood to the evening. Paper lanterns, fairy lights, and personalized fortune boxes made every moment feel personal and poetic.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration transitioned into a night of dancing, heartfelt toasts, and wardrobe changes—a sleek mini dress for the bride, complete with sheer sleeves and statement accessories. From ceremony to afterparty, this wedding was a masterclass in modern multicultural celebration.
