A Southern Italian Love Story at Masseria Spina

Duccio and Vito’s story isn’t one that begins with a swipe or a serendipitous coffee queue encounter. It’s a story that starts in childhood — two boys from the same Puglian town, growing up side by side, chasing each other through different corners of Europe. “They’ve been around theyself for a lifetime,” says Amarilis Photography, who documented their day with warmth and cinematic flair.

Now based in Copenhagen, the couple returned to their roots to celebrate in the place that raised them — not just geographically, but emotionally. Their chosen setting, Masseria Spina, is a vision of southern Italian romance: terracotta walls weathered by time, cascading stone staircases, and gardens thick with olive trees and wild blooms. The venue’s iconic red facade set the tone for a day that felt both grounded and electric.

From the start, their wedding unfolded like a love letter — to each other, to their families, and to a life built across borders. The ceremony was intimate yet vibrant, with guests seated beneath fairy lights and olive branches, fanning themselves in the late summer heat. “It was more than a wedding — it was the reflection of a journey, of a bond that has stood the test of time and distance,” the photographer shares.

There were no over-the-top theatrics. Instead, every detail felt intentional: sea-toned invitations sealed with wax, simple florals in clay pots, a joyful entrance through waving linen napkins, and a cake-cutting moment framed by candlelit crates and barrels — rustic, refined, and deeply personal. Even their dachshund made an appearance, suited up for the occasion.

As night fell over the masseria, the courtyard transformed. Laughter spilled into the air, limbs loosened on the dance floor, and the red wall glowed like a stage backdrop. It was a wedding that didn’t try to imitate anything else — just two people, a lifelong love, and a celebration that felt entirely like them.
