Kahei and Michael brought their closest friends and family to Portugal for a wedding weekend at Six Senses Douro Valley, a destination known for its timeless landscapes, world-class wine, and understated luxury. “Kahei and Michael flew in from the US with their friends and family, and they chose the Douro Valley for a full @sixsenses experience on their wedding weekend,” shares photographer Efigénio Studio.

The celebration unfolded in a way that felt relaxed yet elevated, with the couple embracing everything the Douro region has to offer. “Warm weather, amazing wine and a dinner surrounded by the scents of the Botanical Garden,” recalls the photographer, painting a picture of an atmosphere that felt rich in both nature and hospitality. It’s easy to see why weddings in Portugal have become such a draw for couples seeking both beauty and culture.

For her bridal looks, Kahei opted for two modern gowns that moved effortlessly from ceremony to evening. Adding a layer of individuality, she accessorised with jewelry she designed herself—pieces that carried both style and sentiment. “Kahei looked so lovely in her two dresses and the jewellery she wore, some of which she designed herself,” says Efigénio Studio.

Dinner stretched into the evening under a canopy of string lights, long tables lined with fruit, candles, and sculptural florals. Guests lingered in the warm night air, raising glasses and sharing stories, a reflection of how Six Senses crafts a wedding experience that feels at once intimate and expansive. It’s a setting that showcases why the Douro Valley is one of the most captivating regions for destination weddings in Europe.
