An Earthy-Chic Wedding in the Portuguese Countryside
Photographed by Gustavo Simões
There’s a quiet confidence to this celebration at Casa Sacoto. Nothing overdone, nothing unnecessary—just a thoughtful interplay of nature, light, and minimalism that feels both grounding and striking.
Set against the estate’s towering cypress trees and whitewashed walls, the ceremony took place in a courtyard where sculptural floral pillars rose from sleek pedestals. Mossy green hydrangeas, lemony billy balls, and cloud-like clusters of blue blooms brought in colour without overwhelming the clean lines of the space.
The bride wore a soft ivory dress with a pared-back silhouette and a subtle peplum detail, paired with a gold cuff and a sculptural hairpiece that mirrored the floral forms. Her bouquet, an architectural cluster of calla lilies, orchids, and trailing amaranthus, echoed the natural palette of the day—fresh greens and whites with hints of texture and wildness.
Dinner was served outdoors beside a long reflecting pool, surrounded by linen-draped tables and candlelight. The styling leaned into sculptural restraint: white ceramic vessels, layered glassware, and napkins in soft sage green. Menus floated atop lily pads in the water, with the couple’s names—Milena & Justin—printed in elegant green script.
As night fell, the mood shifted. Under the glow of string lights, the couple cut into a flower-covered cake, and the celebration moved indoors where the cocktail bar came alive under neon purple light.
This wedding didn’t follow trends—it set its own pace. Earthy but modern, intimate but effortlessly styled, this was a celebration that proves less can be so much more.
