An Intimate Celebration Under the Spanish Sun at Cigarral de las Mercedes
Photographed by Brocoff Photography
Nestled in the hills above Toledo, Spain, Cigarral de las Mercedes played host to Caitlin and Mark’s destination wedding weekend—a celebration that felt like slipping into a slower, softer way of life. With sweeping views of the city below, the venue served up sunshine-drenched moments, garden-grown elegance, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you exhale.
The couple exchanged vows beneath an ancient oak tree, its canopy framing the ceremony with natural grace. “They tied the knot under a beautiful oak tree overlooking the city,” shared photographer Brocoff Photography, who captured the weekend with a cinematic eye. The floral-lined aisle and alfresco setup allowed nature to be the backdrop—understated, yet breathtaking.
Caitlin wore a shimmering gown with a delicate train for the ceremony, later changing into a strapless silk dress for dinner and dancing. Her bridal style was effortless but statement-making, leaning into romance without feeling overly formal. The guests, equally stylish, gathered for a relaxed outdoor ceremony followed by long-table dining and dancing under a sea of greenery and light.
Food played a starring role in the festivities. “Guests were treated to stunning views and incredible food,” the photographer recalled. In a nod to Spanish tradition, chefs carried out large, sizzling pans of paella—a moment that felt as celebratory as the speeches and first dances.
As night fell, the dance floor lit up—both literally and emotionally. With arms flung wide and feet bare, Caitlin led the charge into a night of uninhibited celebration. “They danced the night away with their friends and family,” said the photographer. And from the photos alone, you can tell: it was joy, distilled.
