From Petra to Wadi Rum: A Travel-Driven Anniversary in the Heart of Jordan

Murad and Nataly Osmann chose to celebrate their wedding anniversary not with a ballroom or a private estate, but with a destination that has shaped centuries of stories. In Jordan, among the carved stone facades of Petra and the open horizons of Wadi Rum, their celebration unfolded as a continuation of the narrative that first made them globally recognisable. Known for their #FollowMeTo series — Nataly leading Murad by the hand through extraordinary landscapes — travel has always been central to their language as a couple. This time, the destination wasn’t a backdrop. It was the protagonist.

“Petra — ancient, monumental, and deeply symbolic — set the tone for a celebration built around travel, meaning, and shared experience,” shares WeDoAgency, who produced the event in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism. The heart of the concept was Al-Khazneh, Petra’s iconic Treasury. Securing permission to host a private dinner at its base — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — was exceptionally rare. The design responded quietly to the scale of the surroundings: transparent chairs, minimal forms, and candlelight arranged in long, glowing lines. Rather than compete with the stone, the setup framed it.

Then, nature intervened. A sudden storm forced the closure of the site on the day of the dinner. “Within hours, the celebration was reimagined and relocated to an authentic local restaurant nearby,” WeDoAgency explains. The atmosphere shifted, but not the mood. Long candlelit tables were recreated indoors against warm stone walls. Glassware caught the amber light. It was a reminder that travel rarely follows a script, and that unpredictability often becomes the memory.

Nataly’s wardrobe mirrored the duality of the setting. In Petra, she wore a fluid blue gown draped with strands of pearls that traced her open back, paired with sheer gloves that caught the desert sun. The look referenced old-Hollywood glamour but felt distinctly modern against the sand and rock formations. Later, for the dinner, she changed into a sculptural white mini dress with a soft headscarf — playful, confident, and slightly unexpected. Murad’s tailoring remained understated throughout: black velvet for the evening, relaxed neutrals in the desert. Together, their style felt aligned with the landscape — graphic, clean, and aware of scale.

The following day, the celebration extended into Wadi Rum. Guests travelled in open jeeps across vast desert plains, sandstone cliffs rising in the distance. The mood shifted from candlelight to daylight: expansive, wind-swept, and cinematic. A long banquet was set directly onto patterned rugs in the sand, ceramic vessels placed between silver plates, low seating arranged to face the cliffs.

“This anniversary became more than a single evening,” says WeDoAgency. “It unfolded as a journey through place, culture, and shared moments — a celebration shaped by travel itself.” For couples considering a destination celebration in Jordan, from the ancient architecture of Petra to the vast terrain of Wadi Rum, this anniversary offers a compelling perspective on what is possible.
