Quiet Glamour and a Seven-Tier Champagne Cake at a French Château Wedding

Set just outside Paris, this wedding editorial at Château du Prieuré d’Evecquemont unfolds with a quiet confidence. The setting itself does much of the work: pale stone façades, classical columns, ivy-covered walls, and formal gardens that feel structured but never severe. Shot by @katerobergephotography & @fotograf_francesco, and planned by Angie Maraval, the day reads as polished yet relaxed — a reminder of why France continues to draw couples searching for atmosphere over excess, and why venues like this remain a compelling choice when browsing destination wedding locations in the country.

The creative direction took its cue from the diamond — not as a literal motif, but as a way of thinking about light, clarity, and restraint. “The theme was inspired by the diamond, pure, luminous, and timeless,” Angie explains. References to Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn come through subtly, in the sharp tailoring of the groom’s black tuxedo, the clean lines of the gown, and the way sparkle is used sparingly rather than layered on. It’s classic glamour, softened by natural light and an ease that keeps everything feeling current.

Outdoors, the ceremony was arranged in a circular layout, with chairs gently enclosing the couple rather than facing them head-on. This choice shifts the energy entirely — intimate without being informal, composed without feeling distant. From above, the symmetry of the scene becomes part of the design itself, framed by mature trees and open sky. “We wanted a feeling that was refined and chic, with just enough sparkle,” Angie notes. “Something timeless, but never boring.”

The floral direction followed the same logic. Traditional white roses set the foundation, while dried amaranthus added movement and texture, catching the light and softening the formality of the setting. Stone urns filled with restrained arrangements echoed the château’s architecture rather than competing with it. Stationery details — silver tones, fine line drawings, and subtle relief — were considered carefully, reinforcing the overall palette without drawing focus away from the setting or the couple.

One of the visual anchors of the day was the seven-tier wedding cake, displayed outdoors against a backdrop of greenery and sky. Flavoured with champagne and Tahitian vanilla, it felt celebratory without tipping into spectacle. Images of the couple approaching the cake, cutting it together, and sharing quiet glances nearby reflect the tone of the day as a whole — composed, unforced, and thoughtfully paced. As Angie puts it, “This celebration reflects the essence of quiet luxury. A reminder that trends can be included without losing timelessness.”

Throughout the château’s interiors, the same mood continues. Tall arched windows flood the rooms with soft daylight, antique furniture sits comfortably alongside modern styling choices, and nothing feels overworked. It’s a setting that invites couples to imagine shaping the day around the venue rather than transforming it — a useful reference point when exploring French wedding venues more broadly, or comparing historic properties across the country. “You don’t have to follow everything,” Angie reflects. “Choose what feels right.” Here, that philosophy is visible in every frame.
