Château du Prieuré d’Évecquemont is an exclusive-use château wedding venue near Paris, set within a fully enclosed 1.5-hectare park overlooking the Seine Valley. Less than 40 kilometres from the city, the estate offers a quieter, more intimate alternative to a large château wedding, with neoclassical architecture, terraces, wooded grounds, reception salons and accommodation for up to 38 guests. Originally built as a Louis XVI-style folly, the château combines formal French character with the ease of a private country house. With capacity for up to 70 guests, it is best suited to smaller destination weddings where privacy, good views and a multi-day stay matter more than spectacle.

Weddings & settings

Ceremonies

Ceremonies at Château du Prieuré d’Évecquemont are shaped by intimacy, architecture and the estate’s enclosed setting. The château is licensed for marriage and can host ceremonies of up to 70 guests, making it especially well suited to smaller celebrations. The dedicated event team supports setup, timing and practical coordination, with indoor and outdoor alternatives available depending on the season and weather.

The Peristyle

Framed by classical colonnades, the Peristyle brings a formal architectural quality to ceremonies, welcome drinks or arrivals. It feels connected to the château without being fully enclosed.

South and West Terraces

The terraces overlook the park and surrounding countryside, creating a more open-air setting for vows or a sunset aperitif. They work well for couples who want the view to shape the atmosphere.

Orangerie Salons

For indoor ceremonies or weather planning, the garden-level salons offer a light-filled alternative with direct access to the grounds.

The ceremony experience here is not about scale, but privacy: a contained estate, close guests and a setting that keeps the château, terraces and landscape in easy conversation.

Receptions

Receptions at Château du Prieuré d’Évecquemont are designed for smaller weddings that feel private, elegant and unhurried. With capacity for up to 70 guests, the estate works best when the celebration moves naturally between the terraces, gardens and indoor salons.

Les Salons de l’Orangerie form the main reception space, measuring 130 square metres and hosting up to 60 guests. Located at garden level, the salons open onto the tree-lined allée of linden trees and can be arranged for seated dinners, cocktail receptions or more informal layouts.

Outside, L’Allée des Tilleuls offers a 400-square-metre garden setting for cocktails, open-air dinners or ceremonies. Its mature trees give the space structure without losing the feeling of dining outdoors.

For very small gatherings, Salon Louis XVI provides a 56-square-metre room on the ground floor, suited to intimate dinners, private ceremonies or quieter pre-wedding moments.

The venue has no curfew, allowing the evening to continue without the pressure of a strict finish. For couples planning a multi-day stay, the same spaces can also be used for welcome drinks, brunches or relaxed meals across the weekend.

Staying on Site

Château du Prieuré d’Évecquemont accommodates up to 38 overnight guests across 14 bedrooms, including suites in the main château and independent cottages within the estate. Typical wedding packages include accommodation for 30 guests for one night, with additional capacity available.

Château Suites

The second-floor château accommodation includes the Suite Royale, Chambre Impératrice, Chambre Princesse, Chambre Comtesse and Chambre Marquise. These rooms offer king or super-king beds, ensuite or private bathrooms, and in some cases a boudoir, sofa bed or separate WC.

Garden-Level Suites

The Rez-de-Jardin and Étage des Rêves suites provide more independent stays, each with a kitchen, living space and queen-size bed.

La Maison du Jardinier

This 60-square-metre cottage offers a more private option for families or small groups, with bedrooms, an open kitchen, bathrooms and a convertible sofa.

Across the accommodation, guests have access to Wi-Fi, smart TVs, Nespresso machines, equipped kitchens and private living areas, making the estate practical for a short wedding stay close to Paris.

Food & Atmosphere

Food at Château du Prieuré d’Évecquemont is partner-led, giving couples flexibility while keeping the overall experience curated. The château does not provide in-house catering, but works with a trusted selection of bistronomic and gastronomic caterers who can support everything from welcome dinners to wedding feasts, brunches and late-night food.

Dining here is strongest when it follows the estate’s scale: polished, generous and intimate rather than overly produced. Couples might host aperitifs under the Peristyle, a seated dinner in Les Salons de l’Orangerie, or an alfresco meal along L’Allée des Tilleuls.

Partner caterers can provide plated dinners, cocktail receptions, buffets, brunches and late-night bites, with menus shaped around seasonal French produce and the couple’s preferred style. Bar service is arranged through recommended suppliers, as alcohol cannot be sold directly by the venue.

The château team coordinates caterer and bar logistics, including access, setup, timing and service flow, helping the dining experience feel smooth without requiring everything to be handled in-house.
