Agreco Farm
Agreco Farm carries the shape of a small Cretan village, set in the hills at Adele, about 15 km from Rethymno. Created by Grecotel founder Nikos Daskalantonakis and open to visitors since 2000, it gathers stone houses, a blush-pink chapel with a bell tower, a water mill and an olive press around a central square. Vineyards and olive groves fall away towards the Cretan Sea.
The contrast is part of its appeal: the buildings take their cue from a 17th-century Venetian settlement, yet the place still runs as a working farm. A stream turns the water wheel, the olive and wine presses work in season, and herbs grow between the paths. Honey-coloured stone, ivy and bougainvillea supply the texture. As a wedding venue in Crete, Agreco Farm feels rooted, communal and gently lived in, more village than estate.
