Once the Revestel Hotel, a 19th-century property that hosted figures including Virginia Woolf and Winston Churchill, it has been restored as an exclusive-use villa with terraces facing the Mediterranean, a private path to the beach, and accommodation for up to 26 guests. What makes the estate distinct is its rare sense of seclusion so close to Cassis. Ceremonies at Domaine de Canaille are defined by openness, sea views, and the scale of the surrounding cliffs. Under French civil law, legal marriages take place at the town hall, so most couples complete the formalities in Cassis and hold a symbolic ceremony at the estate.
The venue welcomes interfaith and secular officiants, with ceremony set-ups for up to 110 guests. An external wedding planner is required and works alongside the estate team on layouts, logistics, supplier coordination, access, and weather-secure plans, including marquee options on the terrace.

The upper terraces work naturally for drinks, with views across Cassis and the coastline. The 400 sqm main terrace is the centre of the reception, offering space for long tables, candlelit dining, and a horizon-led atmosphere that feels expansive without losing intimacy.
Evening celebrations can continue outdoors until around 2:00–3:00 a.m., with music, dancing, and the cliffs giving the night a strong sense of place. Fireworks may be arranged with the right professional vendor, adding spectacle without overwhelming the natural setting.
For multi-day weddings, the estate’s rental model allows the celebration to stretch beyond one evening. Couples often build the experience around a welcome dinner in Cassis, the main wedding at the villa, and a relaxed next-day brunch by the heated saltwater pool or in the shade of the pines.

Domaine de Canaille accommodates up to 26 guests across 12 bedrooms, split between the main house and a three-bedroom annex near the estate entrance. Nine bedrooms are located in the main house, with several rooms offering flexible twin configurations.
The principal suite sits on the top floor, with panoramic sea views, private terraces, and a spacious spa-style bathroom, making it the natural choice for the couple. Across the property, interiors are light and contemporary, combining original details with pale stone, timber, and tactile materials.
Most rooms are en-suite, with generous wardrobes and a calm, residential feel suited to a longer stay. Daily housekeeping keeps the villa guest-ready, while fibre-optic Wi-Fi, a home cinema, fitness equipment, indoor and outdoor lounges, the heated pool, and the hot tub support the rhythm of a multi-day wedding.

Food & Atmosphere
Food at Domaine de Canaille is place-led, shaped by the Mediterranean setting and the produce of Provence. Catering is arranged through recommended partners, with formats ranging from plated dinners to Provençal family-style meals and refined buffets. For smaller events and private meals of up to around 50 guests, an in-house chef is available.
Menus often draw on seafood from local waters, sun-ripened produce, herbs from the hills, and wines from the Cassis and Bandol appellations. Curated tastings with nearby domaines can also be arranged, making wine part of the wider destination experience rather than just the wedding dinner.
