Hotel Villa Honegg is a five-star boutique wedding venue in Switzerland, set high on the Bürgenstock plateau above Lake Lucerne. With just 25 rooms, a panoramic alpine setting, and exclusive-use weddings required for larger celebrations, it feels more like a private mountain residence than a traditional hotel. The experience here is defined by scale: small enough to feel private, refined enough to carry a full destination wedding weekend, and surrounded by a landscape that does much of the visual work. Built in 1905 and restored with contemporary comfort in mind, the villa balances Swiss heritage with a calm, polished sense of hospitality.

Weddings & settings
Ceremonies
Ceremonies at Hotel Villa Honegg are symbolic rather than legally binding, with civil ceremonies taking place off-site. The hotel’s ceremony options work best for couples who want atmosphere, privacy, and alpine views without losing the structure and service of a five-star hotel.
The settings range from open-air lake views to protected indoor rooms, giving couples a strong weather plan without compromising the feeling of the day.
The Lounge — Open Sky
The most popular ceremony setting, with solid ground, easy access, and wide views across Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains.
The Meadow
A softer, more weather-dependent option for dry days, surrounded by the natural mountain setting of the Bürgenstock plateau.
The Veranda — Under Roof
A covered setting that keeps the connection to the landscape while offering shelter. It also works as a practical last-minute alternative if the weather changes.
The Salon
A warm indoor option for cooler or wetter days, with capacity for up to 60 guests and the intimacy of the villa’s interiors.
For couples who want a chapel ceremony, two independently managed options are nearby: St. Jost Chapel, with capacity for around 70–80 guests, and Bürgenstock Chapel, a 19th-century chapel known for Audrey Hepburn’s wedding in 1954. Both require separate booking and rental fees.

Receptions
A wedding at Hotel Villa Honegg feels private, composed, and house-like in the best sense. The day moves between terraces, dining rooms, lounges, and quiet corners, with the hotel’s compact scale keeping guests close without making the celebration feel contained.
Aperitifs often begin on the sun terrace, under the veranda, or inside the salon depending on the weather. This is where the setting is most immediate: lake below, mountains beyond, and the villa close enough that the transition into dinner feels natural rather than formal.
Dinner usually takes place in the panoramic restaurant, which seats up to 60 guests, or up to 70 with alternative furniture. In warm weather, outdoor dining on the sun terrace brings the landscape into the centre of the evening. For celebrations above 70 guests, a rented marquee may be placed on the lounge area.
Later, the energy shifts indoors. Dancing and entertainment are possible until 3:00 a.m., with extended hours available at an additional hourly charge. The private cinema can become a space for a video montage or a quiet children’s area, while the cigar lounge offers a slower late-night retreat by the fire.
Because of the hotel’s size and layout, wedding receptions require exclusive rental of the entire venue, and weddings without an overnight stay are not permitted.
Staying on Site
The full hotel accommodates up to 60 overnight guests, including sofa and extra beds. Exclusive rental includes all 25 individually styled rooms and suites, breakfast for overnight guests, and full use of the spa, restaurant, lounges, cinema, conference room, and terraces.
Rooms are designed as calm alpine retreats, with many offering lake or mountain views, balconies, terraces, and generous windows that bring the surrounding landscape into the stay.
Master Suite Lake View
The most spacious option, with a balcony and a strong sense of privacy.
Corner Suites
Larger suites with lake or mountain views, plus a balcony or terrace.
Junior Suite
A spacious alpine-view suite suited to guests who want more room across a wedding weekend.
Superior Rooms
Lake or mountain views with balcony or terrace access.
Classic Rooms
The hotel’s smaller room category, still offering lake or mountain views and balcony or terrace access.
For getting ready, styling, or added privacy before the ceremony, couples may reserve an additional guest room or use the fireside lounge.

Food & Atmosphere
The food experience at Hotel Villa Honegg is place-led, shaped by seasonal produce, regional sourcing, and the slower rhythm of a private hotel stay. Menus are created in collaboration with the head chef, allowing wedding dinners to feel tailored without becoming overly formal.
Dining can shift between the panoramic restaurant, the terrace, the covered veranda, and the fireside salon depending on weather, group size, and the mood of the celebration. A formal seated dinner might sit at the centre of the wedding day, while aperitifs, late-night snacks, bespoke desserts, or midnight treats help the food experience continue across the evening.
The drinks offering includes regional Swiss labels, international wines, spirits, and cocktails served by the hotel team. The cigar lounge adds a distinctive after-dinner note for guests who want a quieter end to the night.
