Minos Beach Art Hotel is a waterfront wedding venue in Crete shaped by art, sea air and low-rise island living. Set along Mirabello Bay in Agios Nikolaos, the resort feels less like a conventional hotel and more like a coastal village: whitewashed bungalows, private-pool villas, sculpture gardens and stone paths leading down to the water. Weddings here suit couples drawn to a slower, design-led setting, where the celebration can unfold across sea-edge decks, open-air restaurants and quiet corners of the coastline. With capacity for up to 80 guests, it works especially well for intimate destination weddings with a full resort experience around them.

Weddings & settings
Ceremonies
Ceremonies at Minos Beach Art Hotel are defined by their closeness to the water. The setting is open, elemental and uncluttered, with the bay, the coastline and the resort’s clean architectural lines doing much of the visual work. Civil ceremonies are arranged through the local municipality, while symbolic ceremonies and vow renewals are hosted on site with support from the hotel team and your wedding planner.
Waterfront Patio
Set directly above the sea, this is the resort’s main ceremony setting, with space for up to 80 guests. It has a crisp, architectural quality, framing the ceremony against Mirabello Bay and the ochre-toned headlands beyond.
Chapel of St George
For religious ceremonies, the private whitewashed chapel offers a more enclosed and intimate setting. The small sunlit forecourt seats around 40 guests outdoors, creating a simple, traditional counterpoint to the resort’s contemporary spaces.
Villa or bungalow arrivals
Ceremonies often begin from one of the resort’s villas or bungalows, giving the arrival a natural sense of privacy and calm. Where a bridal suite is not booked, the hotel designates a quiet room for final preparations and line-ups.
Shade, audio and hydration stations are arranged discreetly, and styling tends to work best when it stays close to the setting: sculptural florals, natural textures and a restrained palette.

Receptions
Receptions at Minos Beach Art Hotel are less about one fixed event space and more about the way the resort lets a celebration move through different moods. Drinks might begin beside the water, dinner can shift into one of the restaurants or terraces, and late-night moments can settle into a bar or private corner of the resort.
The property usually privatises selected spaces rather than the full hotel, although an exclusive buyout may be considered off-peak. Event capacity is up to 80 guests, which suits the resort’s scale and keeps the atmosphere personal rather than formal.
La Bouillabaisse brings a refined, culinary-led feel to smaller dinners, with outdoor space for around 40 guests and views across the bay.
Terpsis works for open-air dining with a broader, more social rhythm, with space for around 60 guests outdoors.
Adeste Kafenion has a livelier taverna character, suited to long tables, generous sharing-style food and up to around 80 guests outdoors.
Pure Lounge Bar and patio offers a relaxed sea-level setting for cocktails, informal dinners or more fluid celebrations where guests move easily between tables and the water’s edge.
Ibiscus Pool Bar adds a lighter daytime or pre-wedding option, well suited to welcome drinks, poolside gatherings or casual post-swim moments.
Music typically winds down around midnight. From there, couples may choose a quieter digestif at La Cave or continue the evening in Agios Nikolaos.
Staying on Site
Minos Beach Art Hotel accommodates around 250 guests across more than 120 rooms, bungalows and villas spread along two kilometres of coastline. This layout works well for destination weddings: guests stay within the same resort, while different parts of the property still feel private and distinct.
Bungalows
The resort includes sea-view, seafront and waterfront bungalows, some with direct access to the water. Interiors are light and tactile, with pale woods, whitewashed walls, linen textures, ceramics and indoor-outdoor spaces made for slow mornings and sea-facing downtime.
Private-pool villas
One-, two- and three-bedroom villas offer more space for the couple, immediate family or close friends. Higher categories include outdoor lounges, private pools and reserved sunbeds at the water’s edge.
Accessible and flexible rooms
Accessible bungalows and single-level villas are available on request. Some categories interconnect or include sofa beds, making the resort practical for families and small groups.
Across the stay, the value of the resort is in its ease: guests can move between breakfast, swims, wedding events and post-wedding gatherings without leaving the property.

Food & Atmosphere
Food at Minos Beach Art Hotel is rooted in Crete, with menus led by chefs Kyriakos Mylonas and Poppy Kourkoutaki. The experience is place-led rather than overly formal: line-caught fish, mountain greens, island tomatoes, citrus, wild herbs and produce shaped by the Lasithi landscape.
Dining can take several forms across the wedding stay. La Bouillabaisse offers a more refined waterfront setting, Terpsis brings a contemporary approach to meze, Adeste Kafenion leans into the warmth of a Cretan taverna, and Pure Lounge Bar keeps things relaxed by the sea. Menus may be plated, shared, buffet-style or cooked over charcoal, depending on the format of the celebration.
The drinks programme includes Cretan and Greek wines through La Cave, signature cocktails, open-bar packages or consumption-based service. Tsikoudia nightcaps, champagne toasts, mocktail stations and late-night espresso bars can also be woven into the plan.
