Parc Broekhuizen is a country estate wedding venue in the Netherlands, set within the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and shaped by history, parkland and serious gastronomy. Less than an hour from Amsterdam, the restored 18th-century manor combines original murals, ornate woodwork and period salons with contemporary hotel design and Michelin-starred dining. Weddings here feel considered rather than showy, with the estate’s strongest moments found in its balance of architecture, food and nature. With reception capacity for up to 250 guests and boutique accommodation for 50 overnight guests, Parc Broekhuizen works for couples who want a refined Dutch countryside setting without feeling remote.

Weddings & settings

Ceremonies

Ceremonies at Parc Broekhuizen are defined by the contrast between historic interiors and quiet parkland. Couples can choose from intimate salons, light-filled glass spaces, a larger coach house or outdoor settings across the lawns and gardens. The estate’s wedding specialist and events team support ceremony logistics, supplier recommendations and layout planning.

The Salon

Decorated with 18th-century murals, ornate detailing and large windows, the Salon holds up to 60 guests. It offers the most historic ceremony setting, with a sense of formality held by the architecture itself.

The Serre

A glass-walled space overlooking the estate’s park and gardens, the Serre accommodates up to 75 guests. It has a lighter, more open feeling while still offering shelter from the weather.

The Coach House

With high ceilings and a contemporary finish, the Coach House suits larger ceremonies of up to 150 guests. It is the most flexible setting, with enough scale for both formal layouts and later celebration.

Outdoor Ceremonies

Ceremonies can also take place on the lawn or in the vegetable garden, framed by mature trees, manicured planting and views back towards the manor.

Receptions

Receptions at Parc Broekhuizen are shaped by the estate’s two strongest qualities: food and flow. The setting allows a wedding to move between the manor, terrace, gardens, restaurants and Coach House, with each part of the celebration taking on a different atmosphere.

Drinks and canapés may take place in the Ante Chambre, on the terrace or in the gardens, before dinner in one of the manor’s salons, Michelin-starred Restaurant Voltaire, Bistro LOF or the Coach House. The choice depends on the scale and tone of the celebration: Voltaire brings a fine-dining focus, Bistro LOF feels more relaxed and farmhouse-led, while the Coach House provides the space for larger dinners and evening dancing.

For bigger receptions, the Coach House can shift from dinner to party space with live music, DJs and lighting. The estate can host receptions for up to 250 guests, with exclusivity of the manor house available on request for couples who want a more private experience.

Staying on Site

Parc Broekhuizen operates as a boutique hotel, with 22 rooms and suites sleeping up to 50 guests. Accommodation is part of the estate experience, allowing close family or key guests to stay within the manor and surrounding buildings across the wedding.

A romantic option for the couple, with a four-poster bed, views across the grounds and a freestanding bathtub.

Family Suite, Loft Rooms and Coach House Rooms

Larger and more flexible options suit families or guests who prefer additional space, with the Coach House adding a more contemporary accommodation setting.

Food & Atmosphere

Food is central to the Parc Broekhuizen experience. The estate is home to Restaurant Voltaire, awarded a Michelin star, where chefs Falco Lens and Ivanildo Kamperveen create seasonal menus shaped by local produce, Dutch culinary references and ingredients from the estate’s kitchen garden.

For weddings, dining can range from a four-course seated dinner to longer tasting menus or fully bespoke menus. Canapés, celebratory toasts, late-night bites and next-morning breakfast or brunch can all be handled by the estate’s kitchen team, allowing the food experience to stretch beyond the main dinner.

Bistro LOF, set in the old farmhouse beside the orangery, offers a more relaxed alternative with fresh, local produce and a warmer, more informal atmosphere. The estate’s sommeliers curate wine pairings from the cellar, while the licensed bar can provide cocktails, champagne service and spirits.

The overall feeling is polished but not stiff: a wedding centred on good rooms, good produce and the rhythm of a countryside estate.
