A Cliffside Pool Wedding Above the Aegean at Milos Cove

Photographed by Henry Tieu Photography

Set high above the Aegean Sea, Milos Cove feels carved into the rock rather than placed upon it. White, cubic villas step down the cliffside, each with its own slice of horizon and salt-tinged air. It was here, on the wild edge of Milos, that Kasey and Mark brought their closest friends and family for a two-day celebration defined as much by movement as by setting. For couples exploring a wedding in Greece, the island’s raw coastline offers a striking counterpoint to its minimalist architecture — something Milos Cove captures effortlessly.

“What began with shifting winds and unexpected changes soon turned into one of the most memorable parts of the weekend,” shares Kiersten Roy of Sonder Studio. The photos tell that story clearly. Guests aboard catamarans, laughing as the wind lifts hair and hems; bright swimsuits against clear blue water; the sea stretching in every direction. Rather than resisting the elements, the weekend leaned into them. The wind became part of the mood — visible in veils caught mid-air and in the texture of the water below the cliffs.

The ceremony unfolded beside the infinity pool, with the coastline rising dramatically behind the couple. Florals in soft creams, blush, and dried textures lined the aisle, echoing the tones of the rock face. The palette felt organic against the modern lines of the venue — white chairs, clean concrete, and glass railings framing the sea. From above, the scene looked almost cinematic: guests seated in quiet focus, waves breaking below, and the couple centered between architecture and landscape. For those browsing venues in Greece, moments like this highlight why island settings continue to resonate.

Kasey wore a fitted gown with delicate texture and an open back, the fabric catching light as the wind moved through it. In several frames, her veil lifts dramatically against a blue sky — unposed, kinetic, alive. Mark’s light suit mirrored the softness of the setting, relaxed but refined against the rugged terrain. Portraits along the wooden pathways and cantilevered balcony feel expansive, while others — beneath hibiscus blooms or inside the villa courtyard — bring the focus back to intimacy. The styling never competes with the surroundings; it responds to them.

As the sun lowered, the atmosphere shifted. “Following the ceremony and reception, Kasey and Mark danced with their guests to saxophone music as the sun dipped below the horizon,” Kiersten explains. Golden light washed over the terrace, catching champagne glasses and the edge of the pool. Long reception tables filled with layered florals overlooked the sea, and as night fell, the villas glowed softly against the dark hillside. Just before midnight, still dressed in their wedding attire, everyone jumped into the pool together — a spontaneous finale that felt true to the weekend’s rhythm.

It’s a celebration that reflects both place and profession. As travel photographers, Kasey and Mark chose a setting that offered their guests a glimpse into how they see the world: expansive views, immersive landscapes, and experiences built around movement. From cliffside vows to catamaran sails, Milos Cove became more than a backdrop — it shaped the weekend’s energy. For couples researching a destination wedding in Greece or exploring all venues across the country, this celebration offers a vivid example of how architecture, coastline, and atmosphere can come together in one seamless story.
